A meddling matchmaker connects the chief clerk of a wealthy Yonkers Feed Store owner and his young assistant with a widowed milliner and her assistant, at the same time, making sure she herself marries the well-to-do merchant, in Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart's musical adaptation of Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker.
