Complement your subscription with our new Symphony Series Companion Course! Richmond Symphony's Director of Education, Walter Bitner, leads this deep dive into the music of our 2022-23 Season. Each class in this unique companion course focuses on the repertoire of the Symphony’s next concert and features a special guest with a critical role in the performance. Guests will include Music Director Valentina Peleggi, Associate Conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, and many more! Through recordings, images, scholarship, biographies, backstage stories, and discussion we will listen and engage more deeply with the music and the artists who bring it to life. Classes are Mondays at 7pm (see schedule). Each class is 60-75 Minutes long and will take place on Zoom. A zoom link will be emailed to you the morning of the class.

Each class in this unique companion course will focus on the repertoire of the Symphony’s next Masterworks concert performance and feature a special guest with a critical role in the performance. Guests will include Music Director Valentina Peleggi, Associate Conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, and many more! Through recordings, images, scholarship, biographies, backstage stories, and discussion we will listen and engage more deeply with the music and the artists who bring it to life.

Michelle Cann is the 2022/23 Florence Robertson Givens Guest Artist.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Join Richmond Symphony Director of Education & Community Engagement Walter Bitner for this deep dive into the music of our Symphony Series for the 2022-23 Season. Each class in this unique companion course will focus on the repertoire of the Symphony’s next Masterworks concert performance and feature a special guest with a critical role in the performance. Guests will include Music Director Valentina Peleggi, Associate Conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, and many more! Through recordings, images, scholarship, biographies, backstage stories, and discussion we will listen and engage more deeply with the music and the artists who bring it to life.    


       


Each class is 60-75 Minutes long and will take place on Zoom.     


Required Technology: Computer, tablet, or smartphone with microphone/camera + internet access. A zoom link will be emailed to you 48 hours before the class.
